Tropical Smiles Dental is a modern office seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will assist the dental team in providing quality care to patients. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for dental care and patient well-being. And you will not be expected to work nights, weekends or major holidays!
We are staffed with two wonderful dentists: Dr. Melissa Nitta and Dr. Devin Peck who provide dental care in a vast array of procedures.
Duties
- Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of treatment procedures
- Assist dental hygienists with sterilization, x-rays, charting
- Prepare patients for dental treatment
- Ensure appropriate supply of dental instruments and materials
- Sterilize instruments according to OSHA regulations
- Disinfect and prepare operatories for procedures between patients
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
- Provide compassion and understanding to patients
- Take X-rays and dental impressions
- Make accurate and detailed chart notes
- Communicate effectively with patients about procedures as well as to other team members and their caregivers regarding patient care
- Make digital scans during patient procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and a friendly and calming atmosphere
- Tasks may also include making patient appointments and other pertinent non-clinical patient communication and care duties
Requirements
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Understanding of infection control procedures
- Dental anatomy knowledge
- Proficiency in assisting with various dental procedures
- Familiarity with dental imaging techniques
- Ability to maintain accurate patient records
- Strong patient assessment skills and patient communication
- Proficient in dental treatment documentation
