Housekeeping Manager - Salary

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the Hotel and Golf Club, to include guest rooms, public areas and back of the house. Order cleaning supplies and equipment. Maintain an inventory of guest room supplies, furniture, fixtures and uniforms. Train, evaluate, counsel and discipline employees in his/her department. Assist the Executive Housekeeper in the day-to-day operations of the department and assume his/her responsibilities in his/her absence.

Essential Duties:

1. Hire, train, evaluate, counsel and discipline department staff.

2. Manage/schedule department staffing levels based on occupancy and budgetary guidelines.

3. Monitor daily functions to ensure all areas are cleaned and maintained according to standards set by the Hotel and Golf Club

4. Inspect VIP rooms, guest rooms, corridors, lobbies, function rooms, public facilities and laundry areas for cleanliness and appearance.

5. Evaluate condition of furniture, fixtures, equipment, linen items, supplies and décor, etc. Make recommendations and assist in the coordination of projects.

6. Provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to subordinates verbally and via telephone.

7. Respond to housekeeping concerns from guests or other departments in a timely manner and resolve issues satisfactorily.

8. Review, approve and verify department payroll.

9. Ensure safety training and standards are maintained and safety procedures are followed.

10. Assist Executive Housekeeper in the day-to-day operations of the department.

11. Assume duties and responsibilities of the Executive Housekeeper in his/her absence.

12. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

13. Basic level computer skills in Word, Excel, and experience in Hotel operating system such as Opera helpful.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

1. Knowledgeable in cleaning methods, materials, chemicals and sanitary practices.

2. Three years or more work related experience

3. Three years or more supervisory experience.
