Three bakery positions available, please read below
1. Part Time Dough Maker
We are looking for a part time dough maker 2-3 days a week, from 8 am until about noon. Shift will either be Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Days may vary, depending on the season, for example, when it is slower, we are on Tuesday/Thursday shifts, when it gets busier we move to M/W/F shifts.
This is a physically demanding job that requires you to be on your feet the entire 4 hour shift and to be able to lift and dump a 50 pound bag of flour.
We still make our pie dough in small batches only a few pieces at a time. This gives us the best quality dough we can make. We are so busy we need to add another part time dough maker to our team. This position could combine into a full time position in the future for the right person.
This position is very much at a self motivated pace. Once you learn the technique and the quality from our master bakers, you will need to set your pace to meet our busy kitchen, and to meet your dough requirements each shift. If you apply for this position you must be a go getter and a self motivated individual.

2. Part Time Dishwasher
We are a small business and our staff is our family. We help each other and there must be a great sense of teamwork from our newest hire. If you are a strong worker, we will be happy to cross train you into other positions and help you move up and around within The Right Slice.
Wage will be up to $20/hour AFTER TRAINING.
Hours will be set, AFTER TRAINING IS COMPLETE: This means we will put you on a set schedule that will be the same every week unless you swap with a co-worker. So for example, If you work Tuesday and Wednesday, that will be your schedule. If you need a Tuesday off, you will swap with one of your fellow dishwashers. All of our staff have set schedules so that we can all have a life outside of our jobs and not have to worry about what next week's schedule will be!
Dishwasher shifts are:
Monday, Thursday and Friday 3-6:30, Tuesdays 2:30-6:30pm, Wednesdays 3-7:15pm, Saturday and Sunday 2-5:30.
We are also looking for someone who has a somewhat flexible schedule to trade shifts occasionally with the other dishwashers as needed for dr appointments and such. You must be at least 18, with a valid drivers license and vehicle.
You must live within 15 minutes of the bakery.
Experience not necessary, we will train.
You MUST BE EFFICIENT and a multitasker, as well as reliable and on time 100% of the time.
Our staff has been with us a long time and we don’t want any drama, conflict or BS.
Training schedule will vary with shifts the owner has available to work with you. You will have up to 8 shifts to learn our style and show you can handle the position before your review and raise.
Our dishwashers do all of our dish cleaning and sanitizing as well as our kitchen clean up, sanitizing, trash and other small cleaning duties daily. This is a fast paced position.
3. Part Time Bakery Shop Keeper
We are a small business and our staff is our family. We help each other and there must be a great sense of teamwork from our newest hires. We are a small group and we all get along. This is rare in the foodservice industry, and we hope to keep it that way. We are looking for a great personality equal to or even more so than your previous experience.

12-20 hours a week. We have some fantastic long time employees who could use a helping hand. We would love to add someone who can work on average 3-4 days a week.

Wednesday 12-7:15
Some flexibility requested to allow for swapping shifts or covering vacations with co-workers. We all have set schedules so we like to trade shifts if we need off for anything special.
Applicants must have a flexible schedule to allow for some coverage or swapping shifts with co-workers. You will train near 40 hours a week for your first 4-5 weeks, if you are available… after that we expect to place you on the set schedule. The only changes would come seasonally or if you switch shifts with another employee.
Flexibility of schedule is a must for this position. We are a small staff and we depend on each other to help us cover shifts for Dr's appointments, school functions, vacation etc.
You will work face to face with our terrific customers and will learn directly from our long term, full time staff. Customer service is our number one priority, but you will also be responsible for many of the following duties:
· Follow open and close check lists
· Be observant of any potential hazards/issues/concerns in bakery.
· Keep cold pies at proper temperatures. Monitor as needed.
· Stock and rotate pies daily. Create expiring pie list daily.
· Communicate with market people about rotation and inventory.
· Communicate with bakers about inventory and quality control.
· Roll dough lids for pot pies.
· Answer phones in professional timely manner.
· Take messages as needed.
· Record issues, question or concerns in bakery journal
· Set up sanitation area.
· Write out flavor boards, spelling correctly. Post to Facebook.
· Cut and serve pies and quiches.
· Wrap and package pies.
· Know pie ingredients. Be aware of allergy possibilities.
· Be able to answer customer questions/concerns.
· Upsell pies.
· Share market schedules and other shop hours with customers.
· Maintain the highest customer service standards.
· Be polite/friendly with customers and vendors.
· Monitor Pie temps. Hot holding, and cooling.
· Maintain proper hand washing and sanitation requirements.
· Take money/make change/be responsible for cash drawer at end of day.
· Run charge cards/checking id.
· Take and fill out special order forms.
· Wash dishes and clean up bakery as needed.
· Monitor supply inventory levels, replace and refill as needed.
· Maintain a neat and clean store. Complete daily cleaning duties as needed.
· Wash, dry and fold laundry.
· Sweep and mop store area nightly.

Pay will depend on experience, but expect to train around $16/hour. Training timeline depends on you, and how quickly you catch on. Anywhere from 2-12 weeks. A review and raise will follow. Expect to be at $18-25 after your review plus tips.
We are looking for someone who is a people person, but most importantly who will fit in well with our existing staff. Many of our staff are long term, so finding just the right fit is very important to us.
Lastly, you must live within 15 minutes of the Kalaheo bakery. Ideally from Omao/Koloa to Ele Ele/Hanapepe. Traffic is a real problem on Kauai. We can't accept the risks of hiring anyone from further away.
