Summary:
Kohala Food Hub is a growing and dynamic nonprofit organization with opportunities for advancement. We are currently hiring for 1 F/T Associate AND 1 P/T Driver/Packer positions with defined respective scopes of work, outlined below.
To succeed in the F/T Associate role, you must be hands on at the job site, work on your feet for long days, be personable and outgoing with community at events and at pick-up and deliveries, be digitally fluent with various tech platforms, be organized and self-directed, consistently lift up to 50 pounds, be on the road doing deliveries and pick-ups in a Kohala Food Hub company van/truck for full days, work efficiently and at a quick pace, often on your feet for full days, and deliver excellent customer care.
To succeed in the P/T Driver/Packer role, you must consistently lift up to 50 pounds, be on the road doing deliveries and pick-ups in a Kohala Food Hub company van for full days, work on your feet for full days, and deliver excellent customer care.
Both roles are responsible to perform some duties of other team members when necessary or assigned. While prior experience with the locally grown and made food is of benefit to this position, it is not absolutely necessary.
Important Information:
This position will be hired through our partner Kupu ‘Āina Corps, a state funded workforce development Green Jobs Youth Corps Initiative. As such, we can only consider applicants between 17-37 years of age.

Executive Director, Director of Operations and Manager.
Kohala Food Hub Overview:
Kohala Food Hub is an aggregator, distributor, marketer and online marketplace of locally grown and produced food based in North Kohala. It is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on growing a sustainable regional food system by providing essential services and resources for local food producers and increasing community access to fresh healthy food. Kohala Food Hub helps to improve nutrition access, strengthen our rural economy, and support regenerative agricultural practices that preserve the land and our natural environment for future generations. Associate: Primary Duties:
● Receive, portion, and pack locally grown and made food
● Work in Kohala Food Hub’s POS system Local Food Marketplace, Google Workspace, and other tech platforms
● Long haul driving for pick-ups and deliveries
● Regularly and repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds
● Perform community engagement and outreach via tabling at events and staffing Kohala Food Hub’s mobile market
● Process and package local produce and proteins into value-added products and meals
● Clean and sanitize delivery vehicles and facility
● Perform trash runs to transfer station
● Maintain food safety protocols, quality assurance, and good agricultural practices
● Maintain temperature logs and cleaning checklists
● Assist farmers with cleaning and sanitizing produce and eggs
● Install and post signage and flyers
● Perform other duties as may be assigned by management
Driver/Packer: Primary Duties:
● Long haul driving for pick-ups and deliveries
● Regularly and repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds
● Work on your feet for long periods of time
● Portion, pack, and process produce
● Perform trash runs to transfer station
● Clean and sanitize delivery vehicles and facility
● Emails, text messages, phone communications
Schedule and Compensation:
● $20/hour
● Part-Time: up to 20 hours/week; Full-Time: up to 40 hours/week, Mondays-Fridays with occasional special events on weekends as needed

Qualifications:
● Minimum of one year’s experience working with Internet, Email, Text Messaging,
Microsoft Office, Google Workspace or equivalent.
● Free of criminal background that bears a rational relationship to the job
● High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
Working Conditions:
● Able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., push, pull, and carry for long periods of time
● Partially covered outdoor space where work is required in various temperatures and weather. Administrative duties must at times be conducted in Kohala Food Hub’s packing area and office and at other times from the employee's home.
