About Us:

Join our team at The Pint & Cork, an energetic and dynamic gastropub known for its vibrant atmosphere and innovative culinary experiences. We are located in The Shops At Wailea in Maui, Hawaii. We’re seeking a creative and driven Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and elevate our menu offerings. Reporting directly to the owners, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our menu, managing costs, and fostering a skilled kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a dynamic menu with new and exciting dishes that deliver great taste with concentration on profitability.

Thrive in a high-pressure, high-volume kitchen environment, ensuring top-quality food and service. Respond to guests special requirements and needs.

Manage and monitor food costs effectively to maintain budget-friendly operations without compromising on quality. Conduct monthly inventory control, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.

Oversee and focus on labor costs, scheduling, and productivity to ensure a smooth and cost-efficient kitchen.

Ensure strict adherence to health code regulations and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Recruit, train, and retain a talented kitchen staff, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of learning and excellence. Design and implement a comprehensive hiring and training program to build a strong culinary team.

Maintain kitchen equipment, scheduling regular maintenance and addressing repairs promptly to all assets.

Contribute innovative ideas to grow the business, staying ahead of industry trends and customer preferences.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar leadership role in a comparable restaurant setting.

Strong culinary background with a passion for gastronomy and a flair for menu creation.

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building and mentoring successful teams.

Knowledge of best practices for inventory management, cost control, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to embrace new challenges.
