Cafe Jai is seeking a motivated Catering Manager to support and lead our kitchen and catering operations at Whalers Village in Ka`anapali.
Servicing both catering and kitchen operations, Cafe Jai relies on great teamwork and communication to succeed in a high paced kitchen setting. We are here to build and maintain a strong team/family full of unique, hardworking, motivated individuals.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, catering, or food service role is required
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide a team and work with other managers
Experience handling ordering, inventory, and kitchen organization
Ability to multitask, troubleshoot, and remain level-headed in high-pressure moments
Dedicated to food safety, sanitation, and maintaining an organized workspace
Responsibilities
Coordinate and support the day-to-day flow of our kitchen and catering operations
Work closely with the team to ensure accurate, timely food prep for boats and catering services
Assist with menu development and testing for new catering dishes and kitchen menu items
Manage special catering requests or private event menus, ensuring all standards are met
Oversee ordering, stock levels, inventory accuracy, and waste control
Promote a strong team culture built on communication, collaboration, and accountability
Use basic computer skills for ordering systems, spreadsheets, email, and reporting
Supervises: Assigned kitchen and catering staff
