We’re looking for an experienced Boat Captain to join our team for evening Manta Night Snorkel Tours out of Kawaihae South Boat Ramp on the Big Island of Hawaii. We specialize in providing unforgettable manta ray night snorkel experiences during the summer months, and we’re seeking a dedicated captain to help lead our tours!

Job Details:

Location: Kawaihae South Boat Ramp, Big Island, Hawaii

Vessel: 30-foot RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat)

Tour Type: Evening Manta Ray Snorkel Tours

Boat Capacity: Up to 20 guests

Crew: 1 Captain + 2 Crew Members

Position: Full-time and part-time available

Compensation: $35/hr during training, pay based on experience after training

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate the 30-foot RIB during nightly tours, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests

Lead a professional, efficient crew of 3, ensuring smooth operations of each tour

Be comfortable operating in windy and challenging conditions

Maintain a positive, welcoming attitude with guests, providing an Aloha spirit throughout the experience

Supervise and manage the crew while on tours, ensuring proper vessel operations and safety

Maintain the boat’s cleanliness and functionality

Qualifications:

Must have a Masters Near Coastal MMC (Masters Inland does NOT qualify)

Experience operating open-bow boats, particularly RIBs

Ability to work in varying weather conditions, especially windy conditions

Strong communication skills and a passion for working with people

Must be in good physical condition

Previous experience in vessel operations, crew supervision, and managing tours is preferred

Mechanical and electrical experience is a plus

Willingness to commit to at least 1 year with our team
