Hala Tree Cafe is seeking skilled baristas and cashiers to join our team as we prepare to open our first cafe in Ka'a'awa.
About Us
Hala Tree Cafe is dedicated to serving the finest 100% Kona coffee grown on the fertile slopes of Mauna Loa on the Big Island. Since 2012, our partner farm (Hala Tree Coffee) has been producing award-winning coffee and has grown to become an industry leader in quality, traceability, and innovative processing methods.
For several years, the farm has included a tasting room and small cafe to complement our award-winning tours. Now we're expanding to O'ahu with the launch of our first standalone cafe.
Position
We are hiring both full-time and part-time baristas and cashiers. While prior barista experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right individuals who are passionate about practicing genuine hospitality and preparing coffee to the highest standard of quality.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages with precision and care.
Uphold the highest standards of quality and consistency in every drink.
Engage with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, providing exceptional hospitality.
Serve as an educational resource for customers about our menu choices and general coffee knowledge.
Maintain a clean workspace and keep the cafe organized.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a barista is strongly preferred, but not required.
Passion for coffee and dedication to learning and refining barista skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a supportive team atmosphere.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and early mornings.
Pay:
The following hourly pay rates are the base wage, not including tips. This means the actual take-home could be significantly higher based on customer tips.
Part-time employees start at $17/hr.
Full-time employees start at $22/hr.
