Senior Joint Exercise Planner

DescriptionSAIC is currently seeking an experienced Joint Exercise Planner located at Camp Smith in Honolulu, Hawaii to support the USINDOPACOM J713 to orchestrate planning during the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) and support efficient execution of designated exercises directed by USINDOPACOM J713, Theater Exercises Branch.Job Responsibilities:

Ensure unified action within USINDOPACOM and with supporting organizations to plan, direct, monitor and assess designated exercises intended to achieve campaign objectives in a dynamic and complex operational environment

Support designated Organizations Conducting the Exercise (OCE) and the USINDOPACOM J713 Branch Chief by maintaining a deliberate plan of action with milestones and through production of required orders, briefings, and planning deliverables

Ensure coordination with staff and other organizations to support exercises with proper personnel, equipment, and forces that achieve exercise objectives

Develop, implement, and maintain efficient protocols, processes, and procedures in support of exercise planning and execution

Lead exercise work group planning meetings with all stakeholders and In-Progress Reviews (IPRs) with senior leaders

Maintain associated J71 exercise SharePoint sites and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to designated exercise

Produce exercise orders or directives to facilitate guidance for exercise control planning

Facilitate the development and integration of kinetic and non-kinetic processes into training, exercise, rehearsal, testing, and experimentation events

Leverage appropriate tools in support of the JELC such as Task Management System (TMS), Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS), and other related databases and systems

International travel approximately 20% of the year or as required, to support the planning and execution of designated exercises with foreign Allies and Partners

QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors and fifteen (15) years’ of relevant experience; additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree

Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I complete; two (2) years of experience on a joint operational/strategic headquarters staff accepted in lieu of JPME Phase I

Proven experience in an operations management role with oversight of projects and maintenance of timelines

Experience in operations planning with US Armed Services, including joint assignments

Experience in planning and managing complex tasks under tight time constraints

Thorough knowledge of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) and associated requirements to both plan and execute Field Training Exercises (FTX) and Command Post Exercises (CPX)

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

Candidates must have an active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Must be a current US Citizen
