Job Summary:Assists in providing state-of-the-art behavior strategies and supportive learning environments to patients/members as treatment for medical conditions. Directs patients/members toward healthy lifestyle thus improving their health status and satisfaction.Essential Responsibilities:
Assists in leading behavioral intervention classes and explanatory sessions according to established protocol and curriculum. Conducts experiential sessions emphasizing relaxation, stretching, role playing and confidence building techniques. Assists individuals plan behavior, self-management strategies using goal setting, support building, record keeping techniques and relapse prevention.
Creates supportive group atmosphere conducive to participant success.
Functions as team member in planning and conducting presentations.
Maintains current knowledge in behavioral self-management field as it applies to particular program taught.
Manages routine data collection and administrative duties in timely manner.
Attends and participates in scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum one (1) year of experience facilitating adult group process.
Education
Bachelors degree in psychology or related field.
License, Certification, Registration
Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge of behavior principles and adult learning theory.
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in creativity/innovation, decision making, group presentations, group process facilitation, influence, oral communication, problem solving, and written communication.
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum five (5) years of experience leading behavior groups.
Masters degree in social work, psychology counseling, or social sciences.
