AECOM is actively seeking a mid to senior-level geologist for employment to be a task leader for a variety of military munitions response and environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) for the Federal sector. The successful candidate will strong experience in environmental investigation, remediation projects, response, environmental investigations, and through site clean-up and closure.  Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.  Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work may be required including oversight of subcontractors.Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge. Makes recommendations on work methods and procedures and technical innovations by devising practical and economical solutions to problems in own discipline. Makes recommendations on research requests, objectives, priorities, and timing. Assess need for change and recommends development of standards. Assess work against standards, objectives and specifications. Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies when working on unusually complex technical problems.Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance. Develops solutions which are highly innovative. Assignments are often self-initiated. Acts as advisor to management and clients. Oversees the work of less experienced scientists.
