For a limited time, Partners in Development Foundation will be offering a recruitment bonus of up to $1000 subject to funding availability. (Must meet eligibility requirements.)

Primary Purpose:

Guide program participants in developing appropriate and culturally relevant activities to promote social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth at nonaccredited/licensed sites.

Essential Duties:

Prepare for a High Quality Preschool Environment

● Plan and implement the program-designed curriculum for program participants using the program-approved early childhood education (ECE) standards;

● Pursue deeper knowledge of unit themes regularly;

● Complete and submit assignments in a timely and acceptable manner.

Provide a High Quality Preschool Environment

● Establish, preserve, and cultivate positive, professional relationships with program participants, colleagues, and program partners with respect and care;

● Provide a program-approved physical learning environment for program participants;

● Provide indoor and outdoor opportunities and materials that foster learning of the program-approved curriculum;

● Oversee daily preschool operations of designated site(s);

● Assist with providing child care for drop-in services, if applicable per grant.

Preserve and Cultivate a High Quality Preschool and Program Environment

● Engage with team to discuss issues and brainstorm solutions;

● Communicate progress, issues, and proposed solutions of site(s) with supervisor;

● Lead regularly scheduled meetings;

● Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner.

Other Duties:

Other duties as assigned include, but not limited to, completing all forms and documentations such as reports related to grant objectives, professional development evaluations, and daily logs.

Work Hours:

● 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or as otherwise determined by management;

● Position requires regular and predictable attendance;

● Some events and professional development may occur during nights or weekends.

Working Conditions:

● Designated program sites near or where participants reside, event sites, meeting and professional development sites;

● Office setting;

● If telework is allowed, must have a designated area in home that is free from distractions and conducive to telework arrangement;

● Travel in program and/or personal vehicle to and from program sites;

● Travel to the neighbor islands and the continental U.S. may be required.

Equipment Use:

May include use of: vehicles (company, personal), electronics, and tools and equipment (used for site, prepping, office, facility, vehicle maintenance).

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Education

● Have one of the following:

o Higher education degree in ECE or child development (CD) from an accredited college or university;

o Bachelor’s degree (any field) from an accredited college or university and 12 credits in ECE and/or CD;

o Bachelor’s degree in elementary education (ElEd) from an accredited college or university and six (6) credits in ECE and/or CD;

o 60 credits in a degreed program; certificate in ECE (16 credits)

o Child Development Associate (CDA) (in Infant/Toddler, Preschool, Family Child Care, or Home Visitor);

o 24 college credits in ECE, CD, ElEd, or early childhood special education;

● Knowledge and understanding of Hawaiian culture and values.

Experience

● One (1) year of full time equivalent (FTE) experience in an educational setting teaching young children reflective of the age group of children they are supporting (generally 0-2 year olds in infant/toddler class; 3-4 year olds in preschool class);

● Basic working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel) and Google Drive (Meetings, Docs, Sheets, Calendar);

● Proficient with email, internet researching, and virtual meeting and/or teaching platforms;

● At least 18 years old (to be counted in the ratio);

● Preference: Experience working with homeless and at-risk families of KP’s target population.

Driving

● Valid driver’s license;

● A safe and responsible driving record.
