Central Pacific College is inviting qualified and passionate individuals to apply for part-time ESL Instructor positions. We’re looking for dedicated instructors who are eager to make a difference and help students build confidence in English—all while gaining valuable teaching experience.
Available Shifts:
Morning Adult Classes (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 12:50 PM)
Afternoon Adult Classes (Monday–Thursday, 1:10 PM – 5:25 PM)
Main Duties:
Prepare for and teach in-person ESL classes to international adult learners based on established curriculum guidelines
Take daily attendance
Additional Responsibilities:
Develop lesson plans and create teaching materials
Participate in faculty meetings
Advise and evaluate student progress
Note: The hourly wage includes time spent on teaching, lesson preparation, grading, and related instructional duties. Additional prep pay is not provided.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., English, Linguistics, TESOL, SLS, Education, etc.)
At least 6 months of classroom teaching and/or tutoring experience, preferably with adult language learners
Practical experience planning and conducting lessons (especially for adults)
Preferred Qualifications:
1–2 years of second language learning experience (helpful, but not required)
CELTA or TEFL certification is a plus
