The Cole Academy is dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education, serving children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment that fosters growth and learning. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Center Director to lead our Downtown Honolulu location who meets the requirements for a "Director" level PATCH Early Childhood CANOES registry, both Infant/Toddler (I/T) and Group Child Care (GCC)/Preschool.

Job Summary: The Early Childhood Center Director is responsible for the daily operations and overall management of our early childhood program. This role ensures a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment that meets all NECPA accreditation and Hawaii DHS licensing requirements.

Responsibilities include program management, staff leadership and support, family and community engagement, administrative and compliance.

Program Management:

Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the early childhood program.

Ensure compliance with all NECPA accreditation and Hawaii DHS licensing standards.

Implement and maintain The Cole Academy's developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Develop and ensure positive behavior support that fosters social and emotional growth for children.

Staff Leadership and Support:

Provide daily support and guidance to staff to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, curriculum, and expectations.

Foster a healthy, safe, supportive, and professional working environment.

Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new staff members.

Provide ongoing professional development training opportunities for staff members.

Ensure all required staff training is up to date and in compliance with regulations

Family and Community Engagement:

Establish and maintain positive relationships with families and community partners.

Ensure effective and regular communication with families and community partners.

Support and promote an inclusive environment that respects diverse cultures, values, and differences.

Manage tours and support the enrollment process for new families.

Update and maintain enrollment projections.

Facilitate smooth child transitions within and out of the program.

Participate in community events.

Drive enrollment growth, ensuring targets are met while maintaining full accreditation and licensing compliance, to expand our ability to serve more families within the community.

Administrative and Compliance:

Manage and oversee accounts, including tuition collection and expense tracking.

Complete timely internal and external reporting requirements, such as attendance records, licensing reports, and financial reports.

Maintain accurate and organized records, including child files, staff files, and facility records.

Ensure the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Schedule and conduct regular safety drills and inspections.

Complete regular inventory checks, order necessary supplies, and manage vendor relationships.

Conduct periodic curriculum reviews and evaluations to ensure program effectiveness.

Communicate effectively with vendors regarding orders, maintenance, and other necessary services.

Ensure that all confidential information is stored and handled in a secure manner.

Qualifications: Must meet the educational and experiential requirements for a "Director" level PATCH Early Childhood CANOES registry for both Infant/Toddler (I/T) and Group Child Care (GCC)/Preschool.

Proven experience in early childhood education leadership and management.

Strong knowledge of NECPA accreditation and Hawaii DHS licensing standards.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to lead and motivate a seasoned team of early childhood educators.
