Are you fascinated with the coral reef and Hawaiian History? Is your ideal work environment out on the water interacting with people who are looking to have fun? If so, this might be the job for you!
Our narrators are fun, entertaining, and knowledgeable people who inform our guests about almost everything under the sun, (and sea). The narration topics consist of Hawaii’s marine life, culture, and history. The primary subject is Kona’s coral reef ecology. Also discussed is the history of Kailua Bay, geology of the Hawaiian Islands, Hawaii’s marine mammals and other marine creatures. Some terrestrial ecology/biology and fun facts are discussed as applicable to the group’s interest.
In addition to the Reef Tours, we also offer Private Charters, Ash Scatterings, and occasional private Sunset Tours.
Ideal qualifications:
Knowledge in Hawaii’s Marine life & Hawaiian History/Culture
Experienced and comfortable speaking in front of groups
Friendly, with a good attitude and sense of humor (you will be telling some jokes and making it fun)
Able to perform basic tasks of boat crew i.e., handling the lines, assisting captain and ensuring passenger safety.
Reliable, dependable and safety orientated.
Comfortable with technology (We use FareHarbor for our bookings and Wherewolf for our waivers)
Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
We are looking for coverage during the day on Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. There would also be additional days when cruise ships are in port as well and evenings on occasion.
