Position Summary:
The Director of Operations will oversee all aspects of day-to-day construction operations, including project execution, personnel management, safety compliance, budgeting, and strategic planning. This role requires a strong leader who can balance high-level planning with on-the-ground problem-solving and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage construction operations across multiple projects statewide.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
Drive operational efficiency and standardize procedures.
Oversee hiring, training, and performance of project managers and field teams.
Work closely with executive leadership to develop strategic plans and forecast growth.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal construction and safety standards.
Analyze financial reports and KPIs to assess project and company performance.
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in an operations leadership role.
Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar construction projects.
Deep understanding of Hawaii’s construction regulations, labor practices, and environmental considerations.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. (Master’s preferred.)
Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Strong financial acumen and familiarity with construction software platforms (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Planner & Project Plan).
