DESCRIPTIONRegular Job Functions1) Fit and dispense DME providing appropriate education to patients2) Apply casts and splints.3) Remove casts, splints.4) Apply braces and complete appropriate paperwork ensuring proper authorization before dispensing.5) Prep patient charts in eClinicalWorks. Discuss scheduling issues with the Supervisor as necessary.6) Prepare the clinical pods prior to the start of clinic. Ensure that all exam rooms and cast room are stocked with clinical supplies. Clean exam rooms and cast room after each clinic. Avoid waste.7) Room patients and obtain the information regarding the patient’s visit from the patient.8) Serve as a patient liaison both in clinic and via the telephone. Answer patient questions as necessary.9) Remove sutures and staples.10) Draw and set up for injections.11) Order appropriate xrays per physician order.12) Address all patient phone calls and telephone encounters by end of the work day. Process all prescription orders via scripts or telephone when appropriate by the end of the work day.13) Provide educational materials to patients and discuss any prescriptions provided.14) Manage all referrals; ensuring that medical records (MRI, etc) accompany any patient for appointment.15) Schedule surgical procedures as necessary and coordinate with the patient.
