INSPECTIONS LEADER
The Inspections Leader is responsible to plan, direct, or coordinate all sprinkler and alarm inspection activities. Cultivate strong customer and employee relationships. Provide and negotiate pricing for inspection agreements.

INSPECTION LEADER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales:
Develop and maintain new and existing customer relationships that meet or exceed their expectations of a long-term partner.
Establish contact with current, prospective, and qualified potential customers, scheduling sales calls and following up on leads.
Determine customer needs by conducting site surveys and communicate effectively to educate the customer about IFP capabilities.
Create and conduct effective proposal presentations, identifying the customer’s fire and life safety issues, the effects of the problems and solutions offered
Responsible for IFP and APi NSG National Accounts Customers within our geographic region.
Lead customer presentations, “lunch and learns" and other relationship building meetings.
Estimating/ Quoting:
Create pricing estimates utilizing a cost-plus gross margin approach.
Verify and use current IFP pricing strategies
T&M Projects:
Use as a minimum, current IFP T&M Rates
Fixed Price Projects:
Use current Material Costs – verify with local and national account vendors
Use current IFP Labor Costs including Base Wage, Benefits, Taxes, Insurance, & Indirect Costs
Use current Equipment Rental Costs
Subcontractor:
Fixed Price Work - Ensure that you have a written quote for the scope of work needed.
T&M Work – Ensure that you have in writing mutually agreed upon T&M rates
Minimum Expected Average Margins:
Service Work = 40% Margin
Inspection Work = 50% Margin
Inspection Contract Management:
Review contract agreements working with IFP Contracts Specialist to secure acceptable terms and conditions with our customers – verify scope and price
Assist with compiling contracts, proposals, job packets/ electronic folders and files
Work closely with Design Leaders on any project requiring design and submittals
Work closely with Field Superintendents to secure labor resources for your inspections.
Work closely with Purchasing to create purchase orders and order materials, equipment, subcontractors, etc. on your inspections.
Understand and meet your client’s schedule.
Promptly address and price Change Orders.
Communicate with your customers regularly and timely. This includes responding to emails, texts, phone messages, etc.
National Accounts:
Accepting work orders and billings with agreed upon pricing
Communicate regarding completion of work, issues, and billings.
Subcontractors:
Purchase orders with IFP Terms & Conditions at a minimum shall be used when subcontracting any portion of the work
Master Subcontract Agreements to be in place for any subcontracts that we use regularly – Purchase Order to be issued referencing the MSA
Single Project Subcontract Agreement can be used on large scopes with a one-off subcontractor
Current Insurance Certificate and W9 must be on file with IFP
Safety/ Risk

Work with team to ensure that all inspections are being performed within APi Group, IFP and/or our Customer Safety and Risk Guidelines/ Policies – the most stringent applies
Manage claims and injuries while following APi Group/ IFP policies and procedures
Ensure customers receive all inspection reports and documentation within 48 hours of inspection.
Accounts Receivable:
Review jobs to ensure timely billings and costs are posted correctly
Turn-in weekly billings to Office Leader/ Administrative Assistant
Work with administrative staff on collection efforts
Accounts Payable:
Review vendor invoicing as necessary to verify accuracy
Review and approve subcontractor invoices for payment
INSPECTION LEADER EXPECTATIONS – Key Performance Indicators
Sales:
Minimum Annual Sales Volume of $175,000/yr.
Inspections:
= 50% average annual Inspection gross margin.
90% Astea Quoted deficiencies as a percentage of Spotted deficiencies.
< 5 days Astea Resolve to Invoice
No negative gross margin jobs.
Pursue 10% Annual Inspection growth year-over-year.
Cash:
Turn-in weekly billings

Job Qualifications
Level I NICET certification
1-3 years experience in commercial and/or industrial fire sprinkler design
Knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoSprink, HydraCAD or other specialized fire sprinkler layout software
Ability to work in a timely manner and meet deadlines
Must be detail oriented
Ability to communicate properly and professionally, both verbally and by documentation
Ability to coordinate and work well with others
