Description Manager of SOCWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Information Security Operations and Cyber Defense, to lead our Security Operations Center (SOC) and safeguard our organization's infrastructure, data, and systems. In this critical role, you will oversee a team of security professionals and Managed Security Service Provider (MSP) personnel, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient threat detection and incident response.Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the SOC, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Lead a team of security analysts and engineers, providing managerial supervision and technical guidance.

Develop a forward-thinking vision for the SOC, defining hiring strategies, technology stack, and security processes.

Establish and maintain an incident response plan and vulnerability management program.

Recruit, hire, and onboard talented security personnel to build a high-performing team.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT Operations, Compliance, Risk Management) to ensure alignment with company-wide security strategy.

Stay abreast of the evolving threat landscape, implementing preventative measures alongside robust detection and response capabilities.

Analyze, optimize, and automate orchestration processes to enhance efficiency.

Lead the expansion and modernization of the Vulnerability Management program and Attack Surface Reduction efforts.

Develop and support follow-the-sun incident response capabilities.

Establish clear policies and procedures for all aspects of security operations, including threat modeling, threat hunting, digital forensics, and incident response.

Conduct forensic analysis on artifacts collected during incident response activities.

Proactively hunt for incidents and identify environment-specific indicators of compromise.

Support other security team projects (threat modeling, security assessments, audits).

Lead the continuous improvement of the incident response program.

Oversee day-to-day cybersecurity operations, incident response, and threat intelligence.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Coordinate and participate in cybersecurity audits.

Possess strong crisis communication skills and the ability to manage cyber incidents effectively.

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or greater in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.

Over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with proven history of building high-performing InfoSec, IT Security, or Cybersecurity teams.

Demonstrable expertise in cybersecurity principals, technologies, and best practices

Proven expertise in managing insourced, outsourced, and mixed model cybersecurity operations.

Extensive knowledge and experience in insider threat management and leading threat hunt teams.

Proven ability in developing and executing SOC strategies.

Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CISA are highly desirable

Strategic thinking, organizational, and project management capabilities.

Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
