Salson Logistics is hiring a Class A Diesel Mechanic responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks and vehicles used in logistics operations. This role ensures that the fleet is in optimal operating condition and meets safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to keep vehicles in good working condition.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.

Repair or replace faulty parts, such as alternators, starters, fuel injectors, belts, hoses, and exhaust systems.

Conduct thorough inspections of trucks and vehicles to identify potential problems or safety concerns.

Use diagnostic equipment, computerized systems, and technical manuals to analyze and rectify complex engine system malfunctions.

Maintain accurate records of repair maintenance activities and parts inventory.

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with heavy equipment, tools, and hazardous materials.

Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.

Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and regulatory changes related to diesel engines and transportation.

May provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced mechanics or apprentices.

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in a logistics or transportation environment.

Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection, air and emissions control.

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues.

Effective communication skills to interact with team members, drivers, and other stakeholders.

Education/Training:

High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of a vocational or technical program in diesel mechanics highly preferred.

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record may be required.
