Pay Rate: $28.75 per hour Location: Savannah, GA Onsite Role Responsibilities:
Installation and Adjustment: Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structure parts and system components. Rig control cables, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear, doors, engines, cowls, and associated hardware.
Component Replacement and Repair: Remove and replace system components; cut and fit system lines and hardware necessary for repairs.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and efficiency of all installations; perform necessary rework to meet conformity requirements.
System Installation: Install system lines, valves, ducts, and associated hardware ensuring leak-free systems.
Tool Utilization: Use a variety of tools and equipment (permaswage pumps, line cutting tools, wrenches, checking tools, gauges) to complete components and minor structure installations.
Troubleshooting: Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and structural problems to facilitate and perform basic repairs.
Record Maintenance: Update and sign required logs and records as needed.
Work Inspection: Check own work and potentially check work of junior mechanics to ensure defect-free installation before final inspection.
Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support company FOD (Foreign Object Damage) and 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) programs, and comply with safety regulations.
Competency Demonstration: Show Gulfstream Manufacturing competencies in employee effectiveness reviews.
Log and Record Use: Maintain and use all logs and records such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc.
Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement processes as assigned.
Additional Functions:
Aircraft Certification and Testing: In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Must-haves Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience Requirements:
3 years of aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience (e.g., auto mechanics, heavy equipment).
A&P FAA Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.
Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams; proficient in using all necessary tools.
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small-space restricted areas, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Skilled in close tolerance work and knowledgeable in the use of special tools.
