What does a great Production Support Engineer II do?

In the role of Technical Production Control, Sr., you will be a technology professional adding value to a gamut of Software Development lifecycle stages. You will not only work on production support activities like incident, change, problem management but also on certification support for multiple clients. You will be encouraged to develop a keen understanding of our client's needs, to find and correct flaws and help deliver improvements in a production environment. This role is part of the Fiserv Technology Services group and supports several different Credit Risk, Compliance & Merchant fraud applications in production environment. In this role you will support several different Payment Gateways as well as Payment Back End applications.

As a Production Support Engineer II, you can look forward to:
  • This role is part of a highly technical support team that work covering application support for a critical part of Fiserv.
  • The role is a considered Level-II and typically works with Credit Analysts, Level-III Application team and the Level-I support teams.
  • Responsibilities include application-wide troubleshooting, implementation, and validation
  • The team works on a 24/7 rotation to implement and validate scheduled changes for critical Risk & Compliance applications
  • They work application level incidents related to supported risk & compliance applications
  • We perform analysis of alerts/errors in application logs to determine impact and recommend steps to mitigate impact and steps for permanent resolution
  • The team helps to drive incident calls for supported applications and works with Global Command Center teams to address merchant specific as well as application-wide issues
  • We will help you grow in your knowledge of the applications supported and move you into the role as a subject matter expert

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent certifications
  • 6 years technical support experience including Windows and/or Linux Admin
  • Flexibility to work a 24/7 on-call schedule on a weekly rotation basis
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues to Merchant Representatives, Incident Managers, Product Owners, and various other Fiserv teams.
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline preferred
  • Experience managing network technologies such as LAN/WAN, Windows Servers, SQL, Firewall, POS systems
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and Kibana
