Please contact Human Resources at 770-533-6903 or [email protected] if any assistance/accommodation is needed in the application/interview process.POSITION: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Academic Coordinator of ClinicalEducation and InstructorREPORTS TO: Dean of Allied HealthSALARY: Mid to Upper $60’s, depending on education, experience and qualificationsEFFECTIVE: ImmediatelyRESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, is responsible for performing all aspects of selecting and approving clinical sites Will oversee clinical rotations, including promotion of the program, student assignments, and communication with potential and existing clinical sites for the Physical Therapist Assistant program Responsible for developing, conducting, and coordinating the clinical education program, and also teaching courses in the PTA curriculum Will work with clinical sites to build and maintain relationships, train CIs, maintain clinical contracts, and place students in the clinical setting Will assist the PTA program director with the CAPTE accreditation process Other job duties as assigned by Dean.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution; Current PT or PTA licensure in good standing; Minimum of two years’ work experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a PT or PTA program OR three (3) years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice.TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Ability to work flexible schedule Ability to participate in appropriate staff development and College activities Ability to supervise diverse students in the classroom and in a variety of settings Ability to develop and evaluate lesson plans, and select appropriate textbooks Ability to direct and assess students’ progress in achieving required competencies Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching of courses, data collection, and reporting for accreditation agencies, and the College Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to clinical site management, student advisement, and accreditation Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and to maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staff Skill in the operation of work-related computers Appropriate oral and written communication skills that effectively communicate information to students who might function at the new, beginning, or advanced level Effective human relations, verbal, and written communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Effective decision making and problem solving skillsLanier Technical College is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national or ethnic origin, gender, religion, disability, age, political affiliation or belief, genetic information, disabled veteran, veteran of the Vietnam Era, or citizenship status (except in those circumstances permitted or mandated by law).NOTICE: Federal law requires all employers to verify the identity and employment eligibility of all persons hired to work in the United States.
