Job Title: TIG WelderJob DescriptionPerform TIG welding, receive instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Execute details of working procedures and materials requirements. Follow welding procedures best suited to type of work and materials involved and vary techniques to obtain proper penetration, fusion, and strength, offset distortion and maintain alignment. Fit up complicated but standard structures and weldments involving a considerable number of parts and details, using the clamp and tack method of welding jogs, fixtures and turning rigs. Weld flat, vertical, and overhead positions. Weld separately or in combination using stainless steel, carbon steel, and other alloys in variable thickness ranging from .125 to 5 inches. Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded, set up, assemble, and tack weld parts. Use measuring tools to verify measurements and dimensions, examine products to verify conformance to quality standards, and mark or tag identification on parts per quality standards. Read blueprints and record information such as the number of products tested, meter readings, with dates and times of product production. Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using hoists. Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly, ensuring a safe and clear work environment is maintained.Responsibilities

Weld using stainless steel, carbon steel, and other alloys in variable thickness ranging from .125 to 5 inches

Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded

Set up, assemble, and tack weld parts

Use measuring tools to verify measurements and dimensions

Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards

Mark or tag identification on parts per quality standards

Read blueprints and record information

Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using hoists

Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly

Ensure a safe and clear work environment is maintained

Essential Skills

2+ years of experience with TIG welding

Blueprint reading - 2 years

Fabrication - 2 years

Experience with stainless steel and carbon steel welding

Ability to operate a TIG welder for 10 hours per day

Ability to handle the physical nature of the job

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred but not required

Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work

Ability to work in a team environment

Desire to assist in various duties and departments as needed
