Description This Search is being conducted by Kevin GreenRobert Half is currently working with a dynamic client seeking a cost accountant. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. You will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. Estimate new and proposed product costs

Perform variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances

Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization

Follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements

Take physical inventory and review the cycle count program

Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings

Perform internal cost audits

Plan projects and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste

Generate reports for management that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services

Determine any changes in cost by analyzing any changes in services or goods provided

Implement standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants

Examine the data collected and log a detailed record of the results

Assist in general ledger preparation and audits

Prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and analyze manufacturing costs

Requirements - 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience

Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

Knowledge of organizational accounting concepts

High analytical and extremely detailed

Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Understanding of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
