Directs and manages all Production and Sanitation activities. Ensures product quality and adherence to all applicable standards.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / MAJOR DUTIES
Shall participate as a team member on the HACCP team and insure that the HACCP plan is followed and documentation is recorded for verification. Periodically verifies HACCP documentation being performed in the production of product is done correctly and by the plan. Shall communicate with all plant management and Quality control staff concerning all pertinent food safety and quality issues.
In cooperation with other management personnel and company guidelines, establishes goals and standards for production, plant facility, equipment maintenance, and sanitation.
Insures that all products produced are within established specifications and meet all quality attributes that have been established.
Directs subordinates in achieving compliance with all applicable quality and regulatory standards (FDA, AIB, OSHA, etc.)
Maintains safe working environment for all employees/contractors. Participates in development, implementation and enforcement of safety programs. Participates in accident investigations. Promotes employee safety in all areas of operations.
Maintains cleanliness of work area.
Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.).
Performs other duties as directed by management.
## ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS
License / certification as required
Must be physically capable of rapid, unimpeded movement to allareas of the plant
Ability to generate written communication, operate computer keyboard, and other required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication, blueprints schematics, etc.
Speech and hearing abilities to communicate clearly and distinctly in English (in person and via telephone) and/orother language, if required.
Ability to research, ascertain, develop, implement and monitor required policies and procedures.
Ability to wear and use approved, applicable safety equipment, as needed.
Ability to read, comprehend and practice necessary safetyprocedures, signs, etc.
Must meet/maintain CDC food handling requirements andother governmental and/or customer requirements.
Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including butnot limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence toattendance policies, and other applicable operating rules,policies, and procedures.
DESIRED EXPERIENCEFive years or more progressively responsible manufacturing experience.DESIRED EDUCATIONAssociate or higher College Degree. Completion of AIB Master Baker program (if bakery related position).
