This position oversees the daily patient care operations and provides direct supervision for clinical staff. Handles routine decisions and actions and assists the Nurse Manager in routine staff management procedures. Provides direct, hands-on oversight for resource utilization and escalates issues appropriately to the Nurse Manager and Unit Head. Manages a department's daily workflow. Makes staffing and scheduling decisions. Acts as direct supervisor for all nurses and other support staff in the department(s). Assists with oversight of patients/staff assignments and quality of care. Ensures effective operations of the unit and availability of necessary resources. May assist Nurse Manager with business management and budgeting, ensuring the most cost-efficient use of Health System resources. Provides leadership for interdisciplinary teams ensuring optimal collaboration. Leads team huddles and ensures effective communication hand-offs between unit staff. Position Requirements Associate's Degree in Nursing. 2 years of clinical experience. Current Registered Nursing License or qualifying multi-state compact license. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). Preferred Requirements MSN, Clinical Nurse Leader preferred. Certification by ANCC within Clinical specialty. Previous experience in a like-setting or unit type.
