The College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) at Augusta University is seeking an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor that will provide instruction for students in the Respiratory Therapy Program. Instruction will consist of didactic and clinical environments, not concurrent with patient care, and supervising in a clinical setting. The incumbent for this position will also have an administrative post appointment, serving as the Program Director for Respiratory Therapy. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of academic experience with at least of 2 years experience as program director. The person chosen for this position will participate in scholarship activities to include research, presentations, and publications and participate in service to the institution, college and department by serving on committees at all levels. This is a non-tenure track position.

Responsibilities

Teaching - 60%

Teaching/Instruction (Didactic & Clinical - not concurrent with patient care; supervising in a clinical setting).

Director - 20%

Required Qualifications

Master's degree, RRT credentials, eligible for Georgia RCP license and proven successful experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Minimum of five years of academic experience with at least two years of experience as Respiratory Program Director.

Assistant Professor- early-level career as a faculty member 0-4 years' experience in related field.

Associate Professor- mid-level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Professor- senior-level career faculty member with 10 or more years of experience in related field to include five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Per Board of Regents (BOR) policy, Professors must have a terminal degree.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;

Evidence of ability as a teacher;

Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;

Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,

Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

Advance credentials, experience in teaching in a classroom, laboratory or clinical instruction in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
