Full time position restoring vintage/antique light fixtures and misc. vintage and antique furniture and accessories. Skills required include use of a wide variety of hand tools, use of small power tools, and extensive hands-on work disassembling, wiring, and reassembling light fixtures. Position requires ability to do regular lifting and moving of heavy objects and occasionally unloading large shipments of new inventory. Applicants must be able to confidently work on ladders (8ft) and must be comfortable working with paints, solvents, and other mildly hazardous chemicals. Additional skills that would be useful to have but are not required to apply include welding with an electric welder, soldering with a small propane tank, glass cutting, and decorative painting.
Environment is a fast-paced workshop where every day presents new challenges. After initial training period applicants must be able to be self motivated and stay focused on the task at hand. Workshop is set within a retail environment that is open Mon-Sat 10-5. Work hours are same as store hours with some flexibility possible.
