RESPONSABIITIES
- Oversees repairs, preventive maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of fleet.
- Responsible for support services including heavy overhauls, light unit rebuilds, electronic and body repairs.
- Responsible for the ordering of parts and maintaining inventory.
- Supervises and inspects major repairs and provide technical assistance to mechanics.
- Responsible for directing the work of all technicians including the development of work orders and the evaluation of all repairs performed by both the technicians and outside vendors.
- Monitors radio communications during route times and ensures that all operator inquires related to the mechanical operations of the vehicle are responded to immediately.
- Advises General Manager of individual situations that require further attention.
Other duties to ensure the efficient operation of the maintenance facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a broad understanding of all mechanical systems related to transportation vehicles to include transmissions, engines, brakes, climate control units, wheelchairs and ancillary electronics.
- Must have strong organization and labor relations skills and have basic math skills for tracking trend and for reporting writing.
- Must be able to perform complex technical and administrative work over-seeing the maintenance program to the standards set by the company.
- Must be a team player and able to work well with a diverse group of internal and external customers.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination including a drug test.
Other Requirements (Required)
- Valid GA License with clean record
- At least 21 years of age
- Speaks and understands English & Spanish
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or trade school training; college.
