Head Chef needed for Caribbean restaurant in the Midtown Atlanta area. We are looking for a head chef specializing in Caribbean cuisine only. If you do not have experience in Caribbean cuisine, please do not apply.
Responsibilities:
Must have experience running a kitchen.
Must have ServSafe certification upon employment.
Prepare delicious from-scratch meals, served in a timely manner.
Designing weekly special menus.
Assist general manager in maintaining product and supply inventory.
Ensuring promptness, freshness and quality of dishes.
Coordinating prep cooks/sous chef tasks.
Implementing hygiene policies and examining equipment for cleanliness.
Assist with hiring and training kitchen staff, such as prep cooks/sous chef and dishwashers.
Assist the general manager in performing minimal administrative tasks, such as taking stock of food and equipment supplies.
Must work Friday, Saturdays, Sundays and any holidays the restaurant will be open.
Additional requirements:
Three years of experience as a executive chef specializing in Caribbean cuisine or work in a similar capacity in a restaurant setting.
Extensive written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational skills.
Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
Ability to work as a team member
Sense of urgency (Ability to work quickly on your own and in a team)
