In this role, you will manage, maintain, and troubleshoot RHEL-based systems in a large-scale enterprise environment. Effectively communicate with other team members, managers, and customers both verbally and in writing. You will have the opportunity to be involved in new system infrastructure design as well as small to medium enhancements to existing systems supporting critical corporate operations. Participate in all phases of the systems development life cycle, collaboratively write and review system requirements, while designing specifications and support guides. Responsibilities include weekly on-call rotational support for mission-critical applications and problem troubleshooting and resolution.Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain RedHat Linux operating systems across various environments, including on-premises and cloud platforms.

Provide expert-level support for RHEL-based systems, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline system administration tasks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements.

Perform regular system monitoring, ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of all RHEL systems.

Assist with migration of on-premises infrastructure to cloud platforms, particularly focusing on secure and efficient transitions.

Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, including system crashes, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.

Troubleshoot and analyze system logs and performance metrics.

Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to Linux systems and open-source software.

Display excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Stay updated with new trends and best practices in system administration within RedHat Linux ecosystems.

Skills Required

5+ years experience in RedHat Linux system administration and engineering.

5+ years of RedHat Linux systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Write and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, or Perl to automate tasks and integrate systems.

Experience in automation tools, preferably Ansible to automate repetitive tasks and ensure consistent system states.

Network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, etc.) and security practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and SSL.

Optimization experience with both on-premises and cloud environments for maximum performance and efficiency.

Virtualization technologies, preferably VMware or Nutanix.

Skills Desired

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with cloud service providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, platform services, and cloud security.

Knowledge of configuration management tools like Git and version control systems.

Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
