We are looking for a dynamic Senior Food Sciences Consultant who has a background in assessing the safety of food ingredients, products, and processes to ensure client compliance with regulations, and advise clients on risk reduction and management. This candidate will conduct research, analyze data, and provide expert guidance on the potential toxicological effects of chemicals and substances found in food and will convey this to clients. This senior consultant must have experience in managing personnel, mentoring junior staff, client budgets, internal budgets and team resources.Responsibilities:Conducting Risk AssessmentsEvaluate the potential health risks associated with food ingredients, additives, contaminants, and manufacturing processesData AnalysisCompile, analyze, and interpret data on toxicity, exposure levels, and regulatory requirements. Developing and Implementing Strategies Develop scientific strategies for managing emerging ingredient and contaminant issues. Provide Expert Guidance Offer technical expertise and guidance to external clients and internal teams on research and development, regulatory affairs, and quality controlCommunication and CollaborationCommunicate complex technical information to both scientific and non-scientific audiences and collaborate with external organizations. Stay updated on new scientific developments, technologies, and risk assessment approaches. Team Leadership & Collaboration:Demonstrate the ability to lead and mentor teams, collaborate with interdisciplinary groups, and facilitate communication. Skills:Toxicology Expertise: A strong understanding of toxicology principles, risk assessment methodologies, and relevant regulations. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, interpret results, and draw meaningful conclusions. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and solve problems related to food safety and toxicology. Research Skills: Ability to conduct research, design experiments, and analyze data. Collaborative Skills: Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and external stakeholders. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
