Medical Coding Specialist Location: Onsite in Atlanta, GA Experience Level: Expert Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $24-28 per hour Hours: M-F 9am-5pm A Day in the Role:
Work technical denials from ambulatory surgery centers (ASC)
Validate which codes are ASC codes and whether or not they are billable
Working aged accounts to identify codes that are denied
Research and call payers as needed
Understand payer policies, locate policies in payer portal
Read and understand an EOB
Pull account and scrub medical records to ensure what's billed matches clinical documents
Submit code correction, reconsideration request, first level of appeal, adjustment, etc.
