Associate General Counsel - SubrogationLocation: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.Carelon Health is a proud member of the Elevance Health family of brands, offering clinical programs and primary care options for seniors. We are a team of committed clinicians and business leaders passionate about transforming American healthcare delivery.The Associate General Counsel is responsible for providing file level and business counseling legal advice and recommendations for the Carelon subrogation business. Focus of work is on large scale and/or high financial level projects with broad department and/or organizational impact and moderate level of risk. Works as a strategic partner and decision maker with more senior leaders and manages work independently.How you will make an impact:

Applies knowledge to review of subrogation files: with a view of the business goals and objectives of the company.

Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate legal projects.

Contributes to overall results of business.

Uses professional legal concepts and principles to contribute to development of company's concepts and principles.

May possess deep technical knowledge or broader scope of knowledge in the field of subrogation.

Provides instructions to junior members of the department and concise, timely briefings to senior level business and legal management.

Routinely works on complex problems in which analysis of situations and/or facts require an in-depth evaluation of various factors.

Serves as a resource for other attorneys and paralegals as well as business clients instructing and advising on technical and tactical issues.

Assesses and mitigates risk.

Reports to management any identified business exposure and associated risks as well as mitigation techniques being utilized.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a JD, current license to practice law, and a minimum of 9 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

Experience managing outside counsel strongly preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary range for this specific position is $165,040 to $297,072Locations: California; Colorado; Hawaii; Nevada; New York; Washington State; Jersey City, NJIn addition to your salary, Elevance Health offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
