Youth Horsemanship Instructor Soul Barn at Serenbe | Weekend Availability Required
Soul Barn at Serenbe is growing—and we’re looking for a fun, energetic instructor to join us in cultivating the next generation of confident, compassionate horse-people.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to foster meaningful relationships between horses and humans through thoughtful training, connection, and care. We’re expanding our youth program and hiring an instructor to teach foundational horsemanship and beginner riding to children in a way that centers kindness, curiosity, and trust.
This is more than a riding lesson job. It’s a chance to help young people grow into the kind of humans horses want to be around—and to do it within a supportive, values-aligned team. You’ll work closely with our Head Trainer, Karen Jones, whose approach emphasizes ethical, relationship-based horsemanship that honors each horse’s autonomy and voice.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a minimum of 2 years experience teaching riding or horsemanship
Is aligned with (or excited to learn) a relationship-first, ethical approach to horses
Brings patience, presence, and joy to teaching
Feels confident working with children of various ages and learning styles
Is calm under pressure and energized by helping kids learn and grow
Is open to mentorship and collaborative growth
Is reliable, communicative, and team-oriented
Is available to work weekends
Is interested in growing with the program over time
What you’ll do:
Teach beginner horsemanship through horse care, groundwork, and riding
Create safe, supportive experiences where kids and horses thrive
Adapt lessons to meet each student’s and horse’s needs
Collaborate with Karen and the team to align lessons with our training philosophy
Help foster a barn culture where learning, kindness, and confidence take root
What we offer:
A meaningful role in a mission-driven, growing program
Ongoing mentorship from a skilled, compassionate trainer
A collaborative, heart-forward team and barn culture
The chance to shape something lasting—for kids, horses, and the community
A beautiful setting, well-loved herd, and supportive environment
Opportunity to earn extra income assisting with barn chores and feeding shifts
