Description PLANT CONTROLLER - Well-Established Manufacturing Facility in the Athens, GA areaMy client, a well-established manufacturer in the Athens, GA area, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plant Controller to join their team and oversee financial activities for their manufacturing operations. The Plant Controller is crucial in supporting and driving performance understanding within manufacturing and business segment management. As Plant Controller, you will be responsible for reporting, forecasting, and providing insights on operational performance. You will play a key role in financial management and analysis, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing operations. Provide weekly manufacturing performance reports, focusing on variances from standards.

Manage period close, including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.

Prepare and manage financial forecasts.

Set and monitor standards for manufactured goods, considering run rates, scrap, material costs, labor, and overhead.

Research and report on material cost-related Purchase Price Variance.

Collaborate with Inventory clerks on cycle count adjustments, bin status updates, and scrap transactions.

Prepare capital expenditure forms and oversee spending for manufacturing projects.

Develop and present Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track manufacturing performance.

Calculate and enter inventory reserves, providing insights on expenses and current inventory levels.

Foster team integration and drive business changes through analysis of expenses, product costing, and warehouse movements.

Develop annual cost center, material, and labor budgets, and improve reporting against goals or targets.

Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and implement strong procedures to safeguard assets.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

5+ years of progressive financial experience in a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial modeling techniques.

Experience with SAP preferred - general ledger, inventory, and costing.

Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of responsibilities.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders.

Advanced proficiency with various analytical tools (spreadsheets, financial modeling, TM1, and BI tools).

Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.

Availability to work extended hours during critical periods (e.g., period closing, budget cycles, year-end processes).
