The HR Director position manages the HR Business Partners and is responsible for aligning business objectives with team members and leadership throughout FPG’s field operations, serving as a consultant to leadership on human resource-related issues. The HR Director plays a pivotal role in shaping our organizational culture, implementing strategic HR initiatives, and fostering employee engagement and development. The successful HRBP team acts as an employee champion and change agent, assessing and anticipating HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business leadership, the HRBP team seeks to develop integrated solutions. The team formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to leadership and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP team maintains a sufficient level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition. The HR Director Reports to the Senior VP of Human Resources. Overview & Responsibilities:
Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units
Consult with operations leadership to identify and address organization needs and challenges, providing HR guidance when appropriate
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
Partner with the legal department as needed/required
Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations
Provide performance management guidance to leadership (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
Work closely with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity
Provide HR policy guidance, interpretation, and updates
Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers
Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
Lead and mentor HRBP team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and profession growth
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with business needs.
Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention
Develop and implement initiatives to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum of 8 to 10 years' experience resolving complex employee relations issues
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred
