Phillips Baby Place, cancer care at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and state-of-the-art surgery, recovery, and rehabilitation at the AdventHealth Orthopedic InstituteThe role you’ll contribute: The Clinical Staff Pharmacist supports the mission of the department, hospital, and health-system by preventing, identifying and resolving drug related problems to assure patients safety, improve patients’ satisfaction, optimize patients’ outcome and minimize cost. Works in the main Pharmacy, as well as in patient care areas. Will perform all functions of a registered pharmacist including accurate and timely dispensing, clinical interaction with the healthcare team, patients’ involvement, and technician supervision.The pharmacist serves as a faculty member to the family medicine residency program and provides direct patient care and education of family medicine residents, pharmacy residents and pharmacy students. The pharmacist rounds with the team and gives lectures on pharmacy-related topics.The value you’ll bring to the team:Pharmacy Operations: Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in:

Maintains operational expertise in and actively provides coverage of the technician services provided by

Central Pharmacy

IV Room

AND MAY REQUIRE (at least two of the following):

Oncology Pharmacy Satellite

Operating Room Satellite

CVICU Pharmacy Satellite

Oversees appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems

Accurately interprets electronic records

Maintains expertise in Cerner processes

Manages proper and complete patient profile record

Accurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and dispensing of patientspecific medication doses

Manages medication dispensing activities

Ensures accuracy of all medication products prepared for dispensing

Oversees oral and injectable product compounding

Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking products

Pharmacy Practice: Completes critical medication order scrutiny, drug profile review, and patient monitoring to identify, prevent, or mitigate medication-related problems

Improper drug, dose, or dosage form selection

Dose frequency or timing

Subtherapeutic dosage

Over dosage

Adverse drug reactions or drug allergy

Drug interactions

Therapeutic duplication

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:Minimum qualifications :

One year of contemporary hospital pharmacy experience

Bachelor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or other advanced pharmacy degree

Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Applicable State Pharmacy License

Preferred qualifications:

PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
