Position Title: Underground Utilities Field Superintendent

Job Description:
Seeking a skilled and experienced Underground Utilities Field Superintendent to join our team. As a critical member of our team, you will oversee and direct day-to-day field operations for various projects, specializing in excavation, installation, and repair of wet and dry utilities. You will ensure efficient scheduling, safe work practices, and quality construction while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
Responsibilities:
Direct all field personnel to achieve project completion on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications.
Control job site expenditures for labor, equipment, material, and services while maintaining budgetary constraints.
Maintain respectful and productive relationships with clients and their representatives, addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
Identify change order situations and collaborate with the estimating department to develop proposals.
Ensure compliance with company, client, and OSHA safety standards and policies, conducting regular safety audits and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Coordinate inspections and ensure adherence to project code requirements.
Communicate regularly with the management team regarding job progress and resource requirements.
Oversee and participate in equipment operation, accurately distribute work among team members and subcontractors, and maintain inventory and control over project tools and materials.
Ensure quality control on the project, maintain accurate site layout, and provide weekly project status updates and look-ahead schedules.
Coordinate with subcontractors for procurement, commencement, and completion of work.
Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and secure work site, exhibiting a positive attitude toward safety.
Mentor team members, review performance, and make recommendations for improvements.
Perform additional assignments as required to ensure project success, including occasional overtime and weekend work.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field OR 5+ years of direct experience.
5+ years of experience in underground utility projects, with supervisory responsibilities.
Experience estimating and managing self-performed work activities and subcontracted work.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Excel and Project software.
Ability to operate heavy equipment (if necessary) and endure occasional physical activity.
Thorough understanding of construction operations, processes, schedules, and safety guidelines.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to travel as needed.
