Youth Care Worker needed for teenage girls group home in Fort Lauderdale. Must have at least 2 years of experience working with children and be willing, available, and able to move fast with all pre-hiring activities and pre-service training requirements.
Full Time Shifts available:
M - F 8:00am to 5:00pm
M - F 11:00pm to 8:00am
Part Time Shifts available:
Sat & Sun 7:00am to 7:00pm
Sat & Sun 7:00pm to 7:00am
Basic Qualifications:
Possession of a High School Diploma or GED
At least 21 years of age
Possession of a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record meeting organization's auto insurance coverage standards
Completion of a DCF background check and approval for youth transportation
Physical capability to undergo restraint training when required
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based computer skills and adaptability to learn new software applications as needed
Demonstrated patience, a positive demeanor, and a commitment to understanding youth with behavioral disorders or mental health challenges
Willingness to engage in social and recreational activities with youth, and fulfill surrogate parental responsibilities such as assisting with homework, chores, attending appointments, school functions, and adhering to DCF-related expectations
Discretion in handling confidential information
Ability to follow direction and adjust interactions with youth as directed by supervisory and clinical staff.
