Description:
Responsible for forming, smoothing out, leveling and finishing freshly poured concrete. The ability to work with other members of the construction crew to successfully complete projects within specifications and in a quality manner to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Duties and responsibilities:
Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth and align them.
Must be able to read plans
Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
Spread, level, and smooth concrete to grade, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete and move chute to direct concrete on forms.
Cut sections of concrete utilizing a street saw.
Produce rough concrete surface, using broom.
performs other duties as required or assigned
Requirements:
Working knowledge of forming and finishing different types of concrete
Must be able to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
