Our family is looking for a kind and responsible caregiver to provide support for our very sweet and beloved 80-year-old mother and wife, who has memory challenges due to Alzheimer’s. We also need assistance with light housekeeping and meal preparation.
This can be either one full-time position or two separate part-time positions for two caregivers. We are open to either option. Final decision will depend on your availability and/or us being able to coordinate schedules.
About Our Loved One:
Mom is warm, affectionate, and cooperative. She is often in a playful mood. Originally from Spain, she adores family, pets, and children. Due to her memory, she has become limited to simple, light-hearted conversations, but she continues to enjoy visits and loves to chat in either English or Spanish. She has developed GI cancer, resulting in fecal incontinence, which requires frequent bathroom trips and underwear changes.
About You:
Previous caregiving experience is helpful but not essential – we will provide training. We value a warm and empathetic attitude above all else. Must be a good communicator to keep family informed about Mom’s well-being and be open to receiving feedback and tips on care. Flexible and able to adapt to new family setting. Enthusiastic and contributes to creating a joyful and supportive home care environment.
Responsibilities include:
help provide companionship & emotional support
use of sound judgment with an emphasis on safety
assisting with personal hygiene needs (toileting and showers)
meal preparation
light housekeeping and small tasks around the house
help us create a joyful and supportive home care environment
keep Mom smiling and out of trouble : )
Preferred but not essential:
female candidates aged 21-40 (a granddaughter-like age)
Spanish speaking
Hours: 20-40 hours per week.
We'd like to cover 40 hours per week with either one full-time position or two part-time positions.
Schedule: We can offer some flexibility in the schedule to help accommodate your availability. Times available are Monday through Saturday, with both morning and afternoon shifts. This is a daytime position.
Compensation: $22 to $24 per hour
