Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Tax Preparer to join our team. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for reviewing, preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations as well as quality control. You will also provide paid consultations to clients and ensure data accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Review, prepare and file tax returns (1040, 1120, 1065, etc.) for individuals and businesses
- Review financial documents, such as income statements and balance sheets, to ensure accuracy
- Research and stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide tax guidance
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns
- Assist with audits and other tax-related issues
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive client information
- Perform other accounting tasks as needed, such as bookkeeping and financial statement preparation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5 or more years of experience in tax preparation and accounting
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in tax preparation software
