This position supports and enforces policies and procedures for physical protection of property, building(s) and assets of the facility.Our ideal future caregiver is someone who:

Schedules personnel for shift by coordinating personnel with other Shift Supervisors and Sergeant.

Handles general and post order training on shift for all new hires.

Reviews all shift paperwork for accuracy, completeness and timeliness.

Reports safety, security and/or fire hazards and makes recommendations.

Provides day-to-day direction and expertise to shift to ensure officers adhere to standards.

Identifies, evaluates, and makes recommendations pertaining to potential internal and personnel situations affecting the department.

Assists with brining closure to investigations and reporting events.

Works in conjunction with all staff to ensure shift transition.

May perform secondary staff meetings to accommodate personnel shifts.

Assists in coordinating the effectiveness of security staff and command personnel throughout shift.

Assists in investigating complaints relative to supervised staff.

Responds to requests for assistance from personnel, patients, and visitors.

Develops and maintains good relations with patients, visitors, staff and coworkers.

Demonstrates ability to use common sense and good judgment.

Provides physical restraint when needed.

Escorts personnel upon request.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must have good oral, written communications, interpersonal and analytical skills sufficient to document investigative activities.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Certifications :

State of Florida Class D license for unarmed security officer required. Meets security clearance for confidential information.

State of Florida Class G firearms license required.

Valid Driver's License (VDL). Certified Healthcare Security Officer (SO) credentials to be obtained within first year of service.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable): Includes overall accountability for assigned work group relative to operational goals, personnel requirements, and budgetary constraints.

Work Experience:

At least two (2) years experience.

Physical Requirements :

Demonstrates ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking and/or operating a motor vehicle.

Patrol internal / external premises. Control and enforce parking and traffic flow.

Respond to requests for assistance.

Document incidents; follow through with investigative measures.

Communicates routinely with other Shift Supervisors and Security Sergeant.

Maintains shift schedules and related issues.

Requires extensive walking, standing, and sitting. Frequent talking and listening when directing or investigating concerns/incidents/ Frequent use of the phone, computer, fax machine and company vehicles.

The majority of the time the employee will spend commuting between and in the clinical buildings.

Potential exposure to blood and blood borne pathogens is minimal while performing inquisitions and interviews.

Exposure to chemicals during the course of an investigation may require the use of personal protective equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Proper attire and security accessories. Seat belt required to be worn at all times.

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
