Your Specific Responsibilities: The incumbent if part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Hardee County in its missionto protect, promote, and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community effortsand its vision to be theHealthiest Statein the Nation. Furthermore, the incumbent is expected to incorporate the agency values ofInnovation,Collaboration,Accountability,Responsiveness andExcellencein all aspects of their work. This is a SES position reporting to the Operations & Management Consultant Manager – SES . The incumbent is responsible for supervising the Tobacco Program. This position manages the Tobacco Grant which includes the SWAT, Policy Management and Tobacco Free Partnership, and works as the agency lead to support and improve the health of the community. This position may serve clients that speak only Spanish, Creole, or other languages. It may require performance of interpreter duties, if bilingual, or implementation of the Department’sLimited English Proficiency Plan. Community Health Programs Assists in coordinating the development and implementation of a comprehensive public health promotion and education program, including Florida Healthy Babies, Tobacco, Healthiest Weight Initiative, Employee Wellness, Health Equity. Advocates for health promotion and public health education through participation in workshops or on planning boards, health care projects, advisory councils, and professional civic organizations. Serves as a resource person for technical knowledge in the field of health promotion and public health education. Supervises, coordinates, directs, and evaluates the performance of the Community Health Program staff. Plans and distributes workload and monitors and evaluates effectiveness of the plan. Counsels and motivates employees on work performance. Ensures adherence to established policies and protocols. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual plans and reports for program activities. Develops annual budget and monitors expenditures in alignment with submitted proposed budget. Ensures all programmatic promotional and/or incentive items are purchased in accordance with policy, and monthly reconciliation takes place to ensure that the quantity and type of incentives were distributed in agreement with the logs and records maintained Accreditation Manages Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) requirements for the agency. Maintains paper and electronic documents based on review schedule. Creates and submits all documentation and reports as required Serves as the liaison between county health department and Accreditation Division Keeps peers and staff informed of activities and requirements Attends trainings, webinars and conference calls as required Serves as lead PMQI for DOH-Hardee. Coordinates Performance Management Council (PMC) meetings. Administration Provides supervision, conducts performance appraisals, plans and directs the duties under their responsibilities, approves leave, and execute the authority for hiring and taking disciplinary action or effectively recommending such actions. Other ESF-8 Desk – Serves as ESF-8 desk staff. Attends trainings and exercises annually; ensures appropriate certifications are maintained. Prepares and maintains regular reports and records describing activities in the assigned area of responsibility. Attends mandatory trainings as required and maintains computer competency necessary for job performance. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Emergency Duty:Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
