Byte Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel machinery and farm equipment. This position ensures the proper functionality and longevity of various heavy-duty machinery used in agricultural and construction operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, electrical systems, and mechanical components on various types of heavy and farm equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and inspections.
Troubleshot issues related to fuel systems, brakes, cooling systems, and electronic controls.
Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to assess and fix mechanical and electrical failures.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
Assist in the training of operators and farm personnel on basic equipment maintenance and safety protocols.
Collaborate with management to order parts, tools, and materials for repairs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Proven experience (3+ years) as a heavy equipment mechanic, diesel mechanic, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of agricultural machinery, construction equipment, and diesel engines.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment diagnostic software.
Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus).
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varied weather conditions.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check
