Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our organization adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role involves monitoring compliance with financial regulations, conducting audits, and providing guidance on compliance-related issues. The Compliance Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our financial practices and ensuring transparency in all operations.
Duties
Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs to ensure adherence to SOX, GAAP, TILA, and other relevant regulations.
Conduct regular audits and assessments of financial practices to identify areas of risk or non-compliance.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by governing bodies.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure understanding and implementation of compliance policies.
Provide training and support to staff on compliance-related matters, including financial concepts and technical accounting.
Monitor changes in legislation that may impact the organization’s compliance obligations.
Assist in the development of internal controls related to corporate accounting and financial auditing processes.
Review financial software systems for compliance with regulatory standards, including ACH transactions.
Requirements
Proven experience in a compliance role or similar position within the financial sector.
Strong understanding of financial regulations including SOX, GAAP, TILA, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Familiarity with corporate accounting principles and financial auditing practices.
Proficient in using financial software and tools relevant to compliance monitoring.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
