Job Description
Associate Database Administrator Role: The Associate Database Administrator (ADBA) assists with production support of SQL databases, ETL processes, and data warehouse regions. Participates in desktop and web development. Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with Microsoft certification or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with SQL 2005, 2008 R2, 2012
- Experience with developing ETL processes (SSIS, etc.)
- Experience with C#, VB .NET, and MVC programming languages
- Established troubleshooting skills for resolving various performance issues and tuning
- Entry-level knowledge of database design, implementation, transaction processing, referential integrity, performance tuning and monitoring with an emphasis in MS SQL
- Knowledge of data modeling, relational database design, and ability to create and implement physical databases from logical data models
- Demonstrated data-access coding skills: T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Good analytical and organizational skills with critical attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Intermittent Driver - Valid driver's license and automobile insurance per Company policy
- Ability to travel to off-site locations

- Assists in the production database administration to support all SQL databases.
- Provides support for backups, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Maintains, supports, and consolidates maintenance plans to support business.
- Monitors thresholds for database systems; identifies reliability risks, interfaces issues, SQL job failures, and performance issues and brings them to the attention of the Manager or other DBA staff.
- Supports C# and VB.net production applications; provides programming support in PowerShell, MVC, and, NET programs/platforms.
- Maintains stored procedures, views, indexes, packages, job automation and notifications.
- Monitors systems and platforms for availability; analyzes and maintains capacity and performance requirements.
- Assists with performance tuning both in terms of SQL tuning and also server level tuning using various configurable parameters, running DBCC and running DBCC db repairs.
- Assists staff with production SQL Servers (2005, and 2008 R2, 2012) in installing, security, and patches; aids in migration of SQL Servers from lower version to higher version.
- After 6 months in position, participates in CIT "On Call" rotation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
