Job Summary:
As part of our warehouse and delivery teams, you will use hand trucks and forklifts to load and unload delivery vehicles and drive vehicles to delivery locations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, railroad cars, trucks, and storage areas.
-Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick-up route for the day.
-Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
-Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
-Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
-Assists in general warehouse duties when the delivery route is completed.
-Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
-Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.
-Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
-Ability to drive safely.
-Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
-Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
-Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
-Always remain professional and courteous.
-Forklift certification and/or experience
-Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
Education and Experience:
-Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.
-Experience loading and unloading in a warehouse environment.
-Forklift certification and/or experience.
-Must have a Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR report .
-Physical ability to lift and move heavy items throughout a normal shift.
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
-Must be able to move and lift up to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
